“ I'm Italian, but places like this is why I love to try all cuisines. Great Guatemalan food!! I might become addicted to their Rellenitos de plátano. ($2.43 w/ tax). I'm a huge fan of plantains and when you fry them with a refried bean/chocolate mixture on the inside....delicioso!!!! Their Chile Relleno sandwich ($4) was very good and light with fresh bread. Very friendly staff. I'll be back to try some of their baked goods and pastries. ”
“ Amazing shop, the chili rellanos are my favorite! Better than I've eaten anywhere. My wife's friend lives near the bakery and always brings me a tasty bag of treats . Have had breakfast a couple times there and it's always great. If you're looking for a great Guatemalan Bakery look no further. ”
“ Living in Johnston, we don't have particularly any Hispanic, never mind a Guatemalan bakery close by so I'm glad to have this one opened up close by not too long ago. The breads are fresh, the place is a cute small place - tables and chairs to eat if you decide to sit in. But let me tell you about the churros they have here.. *inserts drooling gif here* so amazingly good, fresh and homemade. When you order it definitely can take about 10 minutes or so for you to get your churro but it's worth the wait for a amazingly delicious and hot churro. You can also get it with ice cream which makes it even more amazing! Definitely recommend this place. Great food, great service and best of all - authe ”
“ Searching for something authentic and homemade to satisfy my pastry cravings I found this small bakery here on yelp. I got a whole wheat sesame cookie, a concha, banana bread pudding, a crispy laminated pastry with buttercream, horchata, and coffee togo. ALL for $8. I'll be damned. Everything was made from scratch, tasty, wholesome exactly what I needed. The baker (I assume also owner) was very kind and helpful in explaining what everything was. They have other savory options that they make to order, I'll just have to come back again to try! CAYALA is ”
“ We happened to discover this business while taking a shortcut. We've never been to a Guatemalan bakery and thought it would be worth the try. We walked in and met (who we think is the owner) a younger gentleman who gave us a rundown of what exactly they had, what each item was and what else they offered. The food was incredible, fresh breads, pastries. Prices were very cheap, we ordered a lot and it came to under $10. Staff was very friendly. We plan on stopping in again to try some of their sandwiches, but we will be coming back for more pastries. ”
